The Utopia programme is extending a special invitation to the artist Jean-François Fourtou, who will be exhibited at the Musée de l’Hospice Comtesse in Lille and in the metropolitan area. lille3000 is proposing a fun and participatory project: the creation of various Minitos, vegetable-headed sculptures inspired by the Nanitos the artist has been producing for several years now.

This project is both intimate and universal, with its origins in a tale that the artist recounted to his daughter about little characters who lived underground in their garden, digging labyrinths and growing things in the vegetable garden. The Nanitos feed on a natural environment, they live in the garden and transform themselves, sometimes becoming real little gardeners.

Tripostal workshops

From 13 to 23 December 2021, with workshops at the Tripostal in Lille led by puppet makers from the region – Lucas Prieux (ESN), Félix Bin Bellomi (Clamart) and Adèle Couëtil (Clamart) – lille3000 is offering teachers, activity leaders, heads of associations, cultural and social structures, residents – any person who can in turn pass on the knowledge – the opportunity to discover the techniques for making these Minitos. They will then be able to share this know-how through their structures so that everyone, young and old, can appropriate it and make Minitos born from their own imagination.

A further series of workshops may be held in February in various Lille districts.

All these creations will then be discovered during the events of the Utopia season.
